CalFire and the University of California Cooperative Extension will be hosting a Reforestation Workshop to provide information and resources to help understand and access resources for reforestation and replanting after tree mortality.

Topics will include: forest ecology following heavy tree mortality, reforestation basics, preparing the ground for planting, selection of nursery stock, treating competing vegetation and land owner assistance programs currently available. 

Who should attend: Landowners who have lost trees to drought, bark beetle attack and/or wildfire and are interested in replanting, and professionals and agency staff who are working in this capacity.

Logistics: There is no cost for the workshop but space is limited so we would like you to PLEASE REGISTER at

Participants will need to bring their own lunch. We will be taking a short field trip to look at bark beetle mortality and replanting in the field after lunch so please bring /wear appropriate clothing/ footware. For replanting information, please check the following webpage: and
